Kerry and I met through friends that were both living on our separate couches. Our first date was at the batting cages. I impressed him with my hitting skills. A month and a half later, he proposed to me in Vegas, outside the chapel of love. Two months after that we were married in the LDS Los Angeles Temple. It has been exactly twelve years since that day, and we’ve had our ups and downs, and we still have days where we weren’t sure if it’s worth it, but we committed to each other, and to our little family, and we make it work. We put time into being better people, and trying to give the other person what they need to feel loved. Kerry asked me today if I was glad to be married, and with a long pause, I gave him a weak “Yeah.” But when it comes down to it, I am glad I’m married. I’m glad he’s on my team, both spiritually, emotionally, and professionally. We have each other’s back, we’re trying to be the best parents we can be, and we’re a work in progress. I love him for who he is, and who he’s striving to become. I love our family, and what a cute dad he is. I am glad I’m married, and I’m glad I’m married to Kerry Bellessa. I’ll choose you and your bag of problems any day. And I’m glad you chose me and my bag of problems. Thanks for sticking it out with me for 12 fabulous, hard, fun, sad, awesome, exhilarating years. x Summer
